Guitar – Dante Romito

Dante has been teaching guitar for over a decade. While offering instruction in various genres, he believes that all guitarists should have the ability to read music, play rhythm, and improvise solos. As students grow they are encouraged create their own music and to embrace technology to help them practice — doing things like recording their own jam track that they can practice improvising.

In addition to guitar, Dante also offers instruction on ukulele as well as beginner banjo and mandolin. Past teaching experiences also include private lessons at Winchester Thurston School (2008 – present), camp counselor at Camp Jam, group classes through the Penn Trafford Area Recreational Commission, PT Adult Ed classes, and guitar and ukulele summer camps at Winchester Thurston School.

Dante has been playing the guitar since 1997. His influences include Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Golub, Joe Satriani, and more. Dante holds a Bachelor’s in Arts (Jazz Guitar) from the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied with John Maione and Joe Negri.

If you’d like to catch Dante performing, he currently fronts an instrumental rock band, which you can hear at Dante has played at various events, and with different artists, throughout town, including the Irwin Jazz Nites, and the 2015 Pittsburgh Arts Festival, accompanying AE Honick.
